The Lift & Fill Facelift-
Facelift Expert Dr. John Burns

The Lift and Fill Facelift technique restores a youthful appearance by lifting sagging skin and fat while simultaneously filling areas on the face that are volume-depleted.

This 3D approach to facial rejuvenation balances volume at the cheek bones, brow bone, eye trough, and temples just to name a few areas.

Dr. John Burns performs hundreds of Lift & Fill facelifts each year, and has earned an award-winning reputation for facelift results, including America's Best Plastic Surgeons by Newsweek and Statista.

What is a Lift & Fill Facelift?

One of the telltale signs of aging is a loss of facial volume. Older faces can appear skeletonized or thin and younger faces are more full. Fat is the optimal facial filler as it is natural, long-lasting, and there is an unlimited supply so full correction is always possible.

Combining facial fat grafting or fat transfer with a facelift is called a “lift and fill” facelift. In the past decade, adding facial fat to a facelift has become the gold standard for natural-looking rejuvenation.

Who Is A Candidate For A Lift & Fill Facelift

Good candidates for a lift and fill facelift are patients who demonstrate both gravitations aging and loss of volume to the face.

How Is The Procedure Performed?

Dr. Burns performs the face and neck lift first. Fat is then harvested using conservative or "low volume" liposuction from the lower abdomen, flanks, or inner thighs.

The harvested fat is processed by first washing the fat and then centrifuging the fat to purify it. Processed fat may also be strained using a filtration system to make it finer: micro-fat, fracto-fat, or nano-fat.

Finer fat is useful for more delicate areas such as the lower eyelids or lips which unfractionated fat is useful for deeper injections requiring more volume such as the temples or midface.

Will My Facelift Scars Be Noticeable?

Facelift incisions are carefully placed to avoid visibility. The trace the sideburn area, go behind the ear tragus, and around the earlobe. From there,  it extends behind the ear into the posterior hairline.

The neck is rejuvenated using an incision below the chin. Fat is placed using a microcannula to avoid trauma and bruising. There is no visible scar from the fat transfer.
