Kybella Double Chin Treatment for Men
Submental fullness or “double chin” is a very common manifestation of the aging process. Submental fullness can be influenced by factors such as aging, genetics, weight changes, and is often resistant to diet and exercise. For men, this area can be especially problematic as it detracts from facial features such as a strong jaw and chin and makes a person appear older and heavier than they are.
Many people do not notice their double chin until seeing themselves in digital photographs from a side profile. Statistics indicate that 68% of people are bothered with a double chin which correlates with complaints of lines and wrinkles around the eyes.
KYBELLA™ (deoxycholic acid) injection is the first and only FDA-approved nonsurgical treatment that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness or double chin. Kybella is a nonsurgical alternative to more invasive alternatives such as surgery or liposuction. Kybella is a simple office procedure requiring no anesthesia and very minimal downtime.
Many patients experience visible contouring of their chin profile in two to four treatment sessions spaced at least one month apart. For men, there tends to be more neck fat which is spread out over a larger surface area. More product is typically needed to obtain the desired result compared to women. However, the thicker neck skin in males allows for excellent contour after the procedure.
