Vollure

In addition to Botox, facial wrinkle fillers have demonstrated great promise in nonsurgical facial rejuvenation. In the past, fillers were primarily collagen-based products which required skin testing and could be associated with allergic reactions. In the past few years, newer more sophisticated products have become available which are better tolerated, last longer, and feel more natural. Hyaluronic acid fillers are the most popular fillers in use today.

Vollure is Allergan's newest VyCross linked facial filler.  Vollure is a hyaluronic acid filler which is a naturally occurring sugar found in the body.  Vollure is a smooth, clear, and very malleable gel.  Vollure products are made differently than traditional hyaluronic acid fillers:  Juvederm or Restylane.  The VyCross linking improves the fluidity of the filler making it move more in unison with your expressions and giving a more natural look.  VyCross fillers also do not absorb water so there is not much swelling associated with these fillers.  Finally, VyCross fillers last 18 months which is longer than the 12 months for the Hylacross fillers: Juvederm or Restylane.  

Vollure is one of the VyCross fillers from Allergan:  Voluma, Vollure, and Volbella.  Voluma is thicker and perfect for adding volume to the face; such as for cheek augmentation.  Vollure is less dense and very versitile.  Vollure can be placed both superficially and deep and can be used both around the mouth and in the cheeks.  Volbella is the finest of these fillers and ideal for filling fine lines and wrinkesl and is meant to be injected superficially.  Vollure is perhaps best know as an alternative to Juvederm for use in the nasolabial folds and marionette lines.  The advantage of Vollure is in its more natural movement and 18 month duration.
