Voluma is one of Allergan's new VyCross linked volume fillers.  Voluma is a hyaluronic acid filler which is a naturally occurring sugar found in the body.  Voluma is a smooth, clear, and very malleable gel.  VyCross products are made differently than traditional hyaluronic acid fillers:  Juvederm or Restylane.  The VyCross linking improves the fluidity of the filler making it move more in unison with your expressions and giving a more natural look.  VyCross fillers also do not absorb as much water so there is not much swelling associated with these fillers.  Finally, Voluma lasts 24 months which is longer than the 12 months for the Hylacross fillers: Juvederm or Restylane.
