Submental fullness or “double chin” is a very common manifestation of the aging process. Submental fullness can be influenced by factors such as aging, genetics, weight changes, and is often resistant to diet and exercise. Many people do not notice their double chin until seeing themselves in digital photographs from a side profile. Statistics indicate that 68% of people are bothered with a double chin which correlates with complaints of lines and wrinkles around the eyes.

KYBELLA™ (deoxycholic acid) injection is the first and only FDA-approved nonsurgical treatment that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness or double chin. Kybella is a nonsurgical alternative to more invasive alternatives such as surgery or liposuction. Kybella is a simple office procedure requiring no anesthesia and very minimal downtime.  Many patients experience visible contouring of their chin profile in two to four treatment sessions spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart.

Kybella can also be used in other areas is the amount of fat to be treated is minimal.  Examples of off face Kybella uses are:  bra fat, lower abdomen, medial or lateral thighs.  The advantage of Kybella in these areas is that for smaller areas, Kybella minimizes the risk of contour irregularities that can happen with liposuction.

Simulate Kybella with the Treatment Visualizer App for the iPhone or iPad

Many of our patients find it helpful to see that a filler could do for their appearance before treatment.  This also helps a patient see how much filler will be necessary to acheive the desired endpoint.

The Treatment Visualizer is a tool for illustrative purposes only to help you visualize simulated results with two of Allergan's facial aesthetic products.

The app also includes:

- Use live-mirror technology to see how you could look with customized treatment, save before and after images to mobile devices, email results or bring the images to appointments to discuss treatment
- A link to Allergan's Brilliant Distinctions® rewards program

To visualize the treatment download the free App from iTunes or Google Play
