Many women have excessively large breasts. Most often, the symptoms that accompany excessive breast tissue include:

Breast reduction involves removing excess skin and breast glands, unlike a breast lift. Breastfeeding may not be possible after breast reduction surgery. A mammogram should be done before the procedure. Maintaining weight is important to prevent the return of large breasts after surgery.

Case 1- Before and After Breast Reduction
Breast Reduction Surgery: This patient had a breast reduction as part of her mommy makeover. Her breasts were both too large and droopy. Dr. Burns performed a breast lift to both reduce the size of the breasts while lifting them at the same time. Her nipple/areolar complex was also made more symmetric, reduced in size, and elevated to better position on her breasts. Her curves are better defined without the excess breast tissue and she no longer carries the physical weight of heavy, burdensome breasts.
Case 2- Before and After Breast Reduction
Breast Reduction Surgery: This patient wanted smaller, perkier breasts. She was experiencing breast pain as well as neck and back pain. She also had difficulty finding clothing that fit properly. Dr. Burns performed breast reduction (reduction mammaplasty) to both lift and shape the breasts. Approximately 300 grams of tissue was removed from each breast. Her nipple-areolar complex was also resized in better harmony and elevation with her smaller and more lifted breasts.
