A proud Dallas native, Dr. Burns graduated from Highland Park High School before earning his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He then attended the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), where he graduated summa cum laude from the Research Honors Program and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honorary society. Dr. Burns remained at UTMB to complete his residency in Plastic Surgery, solidifying his foundation in the art and science of aesthetic transformation.In addition, Dr. Burns completed training in micro-vascular surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, and cosmetic surgery in Miami, Florida.
Following his plastic surgery training, he became the first plastic surgeon in the United States to complete a fellowship in laser surgery at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Burns maintains an active interest in academic plastic surgery as a Clinical Instructor of Plastic Surgery at UTSWMC Department of Plastic Surgery and through the Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship Program at the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute.
Nationally recognized for his expertise in Laser Surgery, Cosmetic Breast Surgery, and facial rejuvenation—including the use of neuromodulators and soft tissue fillers, Dr. Burns continues to innovate and refine techniques that enhance patient outcomes.
