This patient came to Dr. Burns after years of pain and distortion from capsular contracture — a complication from implants placed by another surgeon. Her original implants were placed above the muscle and developed painful, hardened capsules. Dr. Burns performed a total capsulectomy, created a new submuscular pocket for better coverage, and reinforced the implant position using Durasorb mesh as an internal bra. He chose a 455cc saline implant, which carries a lower risk of future capsular contracture.
